The Philharmonic (Venue)

The ECV 2023 venue : The Polish Baltic Frédéric Chopin Philharmonic is the largest music and congress hall in the northern Poland. It is located on Olowianka Island, separated from the old city of Gdansk by the river Motlawa. The island is connected with the mainland by bridges, roads and small ferries. The center was created after thorough transformation of former industrial buildings (old power plant). The concert hall is very modern, fully air-conditioned, has beautiful architectural design and excellent acoustic qualities.

Many important events took place at the Philharmonic, including the celebration of the 25th anniversary of awarding the President Lech Wałęsa with the Nobel Prize and a conference on the 20th anniversary of the Fall of the Communism with the participation of numerous state and nation leaders.

The PBP  offers the following spaces: the Concert Hall (1,100 places), the Chamber Music Hall (180 places), the Jazz Hall (200 places) and the Oak Hall (100 places). All sessions, including poster sessions, registration and welcome reception will be held at the Philharmonic.  Apart from the main bridge , a  pedestrian bridge and a ferry across the Motława River connect the Venue with the centre of the old town. Numerous hotels are located directly on the island and in the vicinity, in walking distance from the venue.

Disabled Access
The Gdańsk Philharmonic offers full accessibility for disabled persons. There are designated spaces for wheelchair users within the Concert Hall, as well as disabled toilets, ramps and lifts to allow easy access to all of our spaces for every guest. A system for the hearing impaired has also been introduced some time ago.
