Useful country information

Citizens of the EU: 
EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Republic of Poland.

Non-EU citizens:
A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days in an 180 day period for nationals of those countries for which the European Community has abolished the visa requirement

Invitation letter
An invitation letter for the purpose of obtaining a travel visa or permission to attend the meeting will be handed out on request after successful registration for the conference.

Currency
The official currency in Poland is the Złoty (Zł).
In many hotels and restaurants in the larger cities, the euro is also accepted as a means of payment (often with a worse exchange rate). You can easily find exchange offices in all cities and touristic areas.

Language 
Polish is the national language of Poland .
English is spoken by the staff of most hotels, restaurants and shops.

Polands international pre-dial is +48 (0048).
Public places like airports, universities, libraries, restaurants and cafés may offer "free"-WiFi Hotspots. 

Electricity
The electrical power supply in Poland is 230v, 50 Hz.
Official plugs in Poland are: 
Type C - The standard European plug. Commonly used in Europe, South-America and Asia, but also in quite a few other countries. Plugs of type E and F will also fit in a type C outlet.
Type E - Mainly used in France, Belgium, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Plug types C and F also fit in a type E outlet.

Polands standard time zone is UTC/GMT +1 hour. 

Health
All visitors are advised to have valid international insurance before coming to Germany. Citizens of the EU are insured with their EHIC (European Health Insurance Card).
